He goes to a fast food restaurant and receives a bag with thousands of dollars in cash instead of his order: “A good person”
A mistake at a McDonald’s location led to a customer being handed thousands of dollars. He returned the money without hesitation.
A man from the state of Indiana went through the drive-thru at McDonald’s to buy a McMuffin. When he picked up his order, however, he received something entirely unexpected. Instead of food, he found several bags filled with bundles of cash totaling approximately 5,000 dollars.
The man, Josiah Vargas, who is known on TikTok as @dookiedoeboy, shared his surprise in a video on the platform, explaining what had happened. The discovery immediately put him in a difficult position, as he was holding a significant amount of money that did not belong to him.
Despite the temptation, Vargas decided to return the cash to the restaurant. When he went back, the employees reacted with relief and even gave him several hugs to thank him for his honesty.
A rewarded act
The workers were so grateful that, according to Vargas, they later contacted him to give him 200 dollars and offer him a month of free meals at the restaurant as a token of appreciation for his integrity.
In addition to avoiding potential legal trouble, the young man earned a reputation for honesty, received a financial reward, and gained widespread attention on social media. His sister, Haddie Keenum, also launched a fundraising campaign on GoFundMe to support him. The campaign has already raised more than 2,000 dollars toward its 5,000 dollar goal, describing the incident as “a test from the universe.”
