After the Republicans formally nominated their candidates for the November elections, it’s now the turn of the Democrats to do so.
The Democratic National Convention will begin on Monday, August 19, and run through Thursday, August 22. The event will take place at the United Center in Chicago, Illinois, and will be attended by between 5,000 and 7,000 delegates and alternate delegates, while the city expects 50,000 visitors to attend throughout the week.

Through the convention, Kamala Harris and Tim Walz will accept the Democratic Party’s nomination to become official candidates for president and vice president of the United States. The official theme will be “For the People, For Our Future,” which is a message inspired by Harris’s previous campaign slogan as District Attorney: “Kamala Harris, For the People.”
Over the course of four days, a number of personalities will take the stage. The list of speakers includes President Joe Biden, Barack and Michelle Obama, and Bill and Hillary Clinton. Walz and Harris will deliver their acceptance speeches on Wednesday, the 21st, and Thursday, the 22nd, respectively.

The vice presidential candidate will deliver his acceptance speech on Wednesday, August 21. Walz’s appearance will be part of the primetime programming, so the speech is expected around 6 p.m. PT / 7 p.m. MT / 8 p.m. CT / 9 p.m. ET.
