How do I know my Cosori air fryer is at risk of burning? The list of models at risk

Around two million Cosori brand air fryers have been recalled after a reports of them catching fire, melting, smoking, or overheating.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission has revealed that around two million Cosori brand air fryers have been recalled after a reports of them catching fire, melting, smoking, or overheating.

So far, there have been 205 reported incidents in the US and Canada, which include twenty-three cases of property damage and ten cases of people suffering superficial burns.

The issue revolves around the wire connectors which are prone to overheating. Units that have been recalled are model numbers:

  • CP158-AF-RXW
  • CP158-AF-RXR
  • CAF-P581-BUSR
  • CAF-P581-AUSR
  • CAF-P581-RUSR
  • CP137-AF
  • CP137-AF-RXB
  • CP137-AF-RXR
  • CP137-AF-RXW
  • CS158-AF
  • CS158-AF-RXB
  • CS158-AF-R19
  • CAF-P581S-BUSR
  • CAF-P581S-RUSR
  • CAF-P581S-AUSR
  • CO137-AF
  • CO158-AF
  • CO158-AF-RXB
  • CP258-AF

These products were sold between June 2018 and December 2022 at Best Buy, Target and Home Depot stores, as well as online by Amazon, Adorama, Bed Bath & Beyond, Cosori, eBay, HomeGoods, Kohl’s, Lowe’s, Macy’s, QVC, Staples, Vesync, Walmart, Wayfair, Wellbots and Woot, costing between $70 and $130.

“The health and safety of COSORI users is our highest priority; we are taking this action out of an abundance of caution,” read a statement released by Cosori. “All of our products are rigorously and routinely tested for consumer safety and are in full compliance with established industry standards.”

The affected units were sold in 3.7 and 5.8 quart sizes, colored black, gray, white, blue or red. Anyone who purchased one of these recalled air fryers is advised to stop using it immediately. Even if there have been no problems with your unit, you should visit Cosori’s recall page and complete the recall registration form to return the product.
