Hugh Grant’s awkward Oscar interview
Ashley Graham’s red carpet interview with Hugh Grant didn’t go so well as the British actor looked like he’d rather be about anywhere else.
Oscars red carpet hostess Ashley Graham had an awkward interview with actor Hugh Grant ahead of the 2023 Academy Awards ceremony.

Hugh Grant’s lackluster Oscars interview
After calling him an Oscars veteran and asking his favorite thing about being at the Oscars, Grant stood for a while in silence before finally replying, “well, uh...it’s fascinating. The whole of humanity is here. It’s Vanity Fair.”
It only got more awkward after that. Graham asked Grant what he was most excited to see, which he did not understand in context. Graham clarified, “Yeah, well, I know that you probably watched a few of the movies, are you excited to see anybody win? Do you have your hopes up for anyone?” His reply, simply, was “no one in particular”.
Graham didn’t give up despite Grant’s dead responses. She decided to change the topic, asking him about what he was wearing. He said simply, “my suit.” At this point, everyone watching the interview had to be cringing. Graham tried to make light of it, asking who made the suit, but Grant just said he didn’t remember his tailor’s name.
Graham’s final attempt was to talk about Grant’s part in ‘Glass Onion’, which was actually just a cameo. When she asked how fun it was to be in the movie, Grant said, “Well, I’m barely in it, I’m in it for about three seconds”. She tried one last lighthearted attempt, asking if he still had a good time anyway, and he just said, “almost”. When she finally gave up and ended the interview, Grant gave a slight eye roll. It truly looked as if Grant would like to be just about anywhere else in the world.
