Is Elon Musk really giving Donald Trump $45 million per month for election campaign?
The billionaire is rowing back on claims he was to be donating tens of millions of dollars to Trump’s campaign.

The Wall Street Journal reported last week that tech mogul Elon Musk was to be donating $45 million a month to a pressure action group (PAC) in support of former president Donald Trump.
“I fully endorse President Trump and hope for his rapid recovery,” Musk wrote in the aftermath of the shooting. Trump even brought up the donations in a recent rally.
Musk seemed to confirm this pledge by replying “Yeah” to a tweet about him sending $180 million to Trump’s campaing, the equivalent of $45 million multiplied by the four months until the election.
But now it seems that Musk’s enthusiam is waning.
Elon Musk: At no point I said I was going to donate $45 million a month to Donald Trump. That was fiction.

What Elon Musk is actually donating
In his recent interview with pop-psycologist Jordan Peterson, clarifying that he is making donations to the America PAC, but at a “much lower level” than what has been reported in the media.

But he says that the idea that he is not putting $45 million a month into the group.
“What’s been reported in the media is simply not true. I am not donating $45 million a month to Trump.”pic.twitter.com/V8we3Iqbwb
He emphasised that America PAC is not meant to be a “hyperpartisan” organization. Instead, Musk described the PAC’s purpose as promoting principles that “make America great in the first place,” such as meritocracy and deregulation.
It is not clear exactly how much will be donated, but its looking like it will not be that $45 million a month.
