JD Vance outlines immigrant deportation priorities if Trump is elected president
JD Vance spoke at the VP debate about undocumented immigrants and the priorities of Donald Trump’s proposed mass deportation plan if reelected president.
On October 1, the first and probably last vice presidential debate was held between the Democratic governor of Minnesota, Tim Walz, and the Republican senator, JD Vance.
During the debate, both candidates were questioned on several issues of national interest, including the current situation in the Middle East, climate change, immigration, the US economy, abortion, gun violence, housing, health, the child care crisis, and the 2020 elections.
One of the issues that most worries American citizens is the immigration crisis on the southern border with Mexico. In this regard, JD Vance was questioned about the plan for the mass deportation of undocumented immigrants proposed by Donald Trump. In his response he revealed which groups the administration will focus its efforts on first.

The Republican vice presidential candidate said that if the former president is reelected to the White House, the Trump administration would first focus its mass deportation efforts on undocumented immigrants who have committed crimes.
Vance said the Republican administration would begin deporting “about a million of those people have committed some form of crime in addition to crossing the border illegally.”
He also said he would force others to leave on their own through wage rules. “A lot of people will go home if they can’t work for less than minimum wage in our own country,” Vance said. “And by the way, that’ll be really good for our workers who just want to earn a fair wage for doing a good day’s work,” he added.

The senator was asked directly whether he would separate undocumented immigrant parents from their U.S. citizen children, but he dodged the question.
Trump has repeatedly promised to carry out the “largest deportation operation ever,” but has not explained in detail how he hopes to expel millions of immigrants from the country.
Among his “20 promises to make America great again,” Trump includes points such as: “Seal the border and stop the migrant invasion” and “Carry out the largest deportation operation in American history.”
Some of the measures to address illegal immigration include: securing the border, enforcing immigration laws, reinstating the ‘Remain in Mexico’ policy and Title 42, as well as implementing the largest deportation program in history and stopping sanctuary cities. He has also proposed banning mortgages for undocumented immigrants.
