Joe Rogan and “The Rock” agree on what the most durable car brand is: “Those motherf*ckers go forever”

People often sing the praises of their vehicles that have been with them for what seems like forever, going through hell and back, but that still keep going. However, there is one car company which makes vehicles that just about everyone relies on over all the rest, Toyota.

This is the case of Joe Rogan, a famous gear head, who during an interview with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson got into a conversation about cars and said, “Toyota, those motherf*ckers go forever.” The host of the Joe Rogan Experience podcast shared that he has a 1995 Toyota Land Cruiser that he had completely refitted.

The Rock shared that the first car he bought when he began wrestling was a used Land Cruiser. “They’re great, they will go hundreds of thousands of miles and not F@#k up,” Rogan chimed in.

Research backs him up on the reliability of Toyotas. iSeecars analyzed over 174 million vehicles and there was a nearly 18% probability that a Toyota would reach 250,000 miles compared to an average of 4.8% for the rest of the 32 brands looked at.

The cars that just won’t quit, favored by celebrities and terrorists alike

This dependability has earned Toyota a solid reputation and loyal customer base from the aforementioned celebrities as well as other Hollywood elites to the car of choice for those who live in Australia’s Outback, where the waiting list to get a new Land Cruiser 70 Series is four years.

It also got the Japanese carmaker into hot water with the U.S. government back in 2014 when hundreds of new Toyota Land Cruiser 70 series and Hilux (Tacoma in the U.S. market) pick-up trucks started showing up in ISIS videos as they captured cities across Syria and Iraq. The company said at the time that it is impossible to control the theft or resale of their vehicles.

The same reason these two models of Toyota vehicles are popular among terrorists is why they are popular in the Outback, and other places around the globe where distances are vast and transport infrastructure is limited. While they are extremely dependable and rugged like more expensive Toyota models, these two models are barebones, without all the fancy electronics.

This means fewer things can go wrong, and when it does, the problem is easier to solve. This can mean life or death when someone gets stuck out in the wilderness.

The BBC program Top Gear proved just how durable the Toyota Hilux can be. In Episode 5 of Season 3 Jeremy Clarkson literally destroyed a used Hilux that he had found on a farm.

But despite all the punishment inflicted upon the pick-up truck that had already logged over 190,000 miles, including driving in the ocean, being smashed with a wrecking ball, and set on fire, it was still able to drive.
