John Oliver lists all of the connections between Jeffrey Epstein and Donald Trump
Late-night host John Oliver highlights Donald Trump’s long-standing ties to Jeffrey Epstein, as the president continues to downplay their connection.
In his weekend show, comedian John Oliver walked his audience through a recap of the decades-long connections between President Donald Trump and the late convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein.
Many of the president’s supporters believed he had campaigned on a promise to release all government documents related to Epstein, aiming to provide the public with clarity on the scale of his crimes and the identities of those who may have been involved.
However, the administration has since backtracked on that promise.
President Trump has attempted to downplay the significance of the information—an effort that appeared suspicious after the Wall Street Journal reported that his attorney general, Pam Bondi, had informed him in May that his name does appear in the files. While the mention of Trump in the documents is not evidence of wrongdoing, it has been enough to raise suspicions within MAGA circles that he may be trying to protect himself or others from further scrutiny. The president’s attempts to put the issue to rest—and Oliver’s summary of the Trump-Epstein connection—have since gone viral.
The British comedian and host of Last Week Tonight pointed out that Trump and Epstein were close in the 1990s and early 2000s, until Trump cut ties with him in 2004.
Oliver began by noting that “all Trump did was repeatedly host Epstein at Mar-a-Lago,” while showing photos of the two together at the property. Oliver also stated that Trump invited Epstein to his wedding to Marla Maples in 1993, and that the two attended various Victoria’s Secret fashion shows together. The late-night host highlighted a quote from New York Magazine that has resurfaced, in which Trump described Epstein as “a terrific guy,” adding that Epstein “liked beautiful women as much as I do, and many of them are on the younger side.”
“I’ve known Jeff for 15 years. Terrific guy...He’s a lot of fun to be with. It is even said that he likes beautiful women as much as I do, and many of them are on the younger side.”

After outlining the Trump-Epstein ties, Oliver also revisited other documented instances of Trump’s predatory behavior toward women, including the infamous “grab ’em by the pussy” recording and reports from five Miss Teen USA contestants who said Trump—then the pageant’s owner—would enter the dressing room while they were changing.
Trump says Epstein “stole” his workers at Mar-a-Lago
Several Epstein victims have reported meeting either Epstein or his co-conspirator Ghislaine Maxwell at Mar-a-Lago. President Trump confirmed this on July 29, when he said that Jeffrey Epstein “stole” some of the girls who had worked at his spa, including the late Virginia Giuffre, who died by suicide earlier this year.

“People were taken out of the spa, hired by him. In other words, gone,” said the president on the tarmac in Scotland as he prepared to board Air Force One to return to Washington. He explained that after he warned Epstein to stop, the behavior continued, and at that point, he kicked him out of the club and cut ties. However, that timeline does not stand up to scrutiny. When asked by a reporter if Guiffre was one of the girls who had been stolen, the president responded that he thought so, and attempted to cover his back, adding that “she had no complaints about us, none whatsoever.” Guiffre stated that she was working at Mar-a-Lago in 2000 when she met Epstein, and just two years later Trump was calling him a “terrific guy” in the New Yorker.
