Update:

Nutrition plays a central role in our daily lives. In fact, many of us plan our schedules around mealtimes — even if we’re not always doing it in the healthiest way.

By now, most people know that eating a balanced, nutritious diet is ideal, though sticking to it can be tough during the holidays or summer. And when you pair healthy eating with regular exercise, you’re already hitting two major pillars of a healthier lifestyle.

Regular eating times

But it’s not just what you eat that matters. When you eat also plays a key role. Having a consistent schedule can help manage hunger and reduce the urge to snack throughout the day.

Nutritionist Júlia Farré tackled this topic in a recent TikTok post, where she highlighted a common habit she says isn’t ideal:“Do you eat dinner after 9 p.m. and breakfast before 9 a.m.? That’s not good for your health,” she warned.

Fasting while sleeping

According to Farré, the body needs at least 12 hours of overnight fasting.“The body needs a nighttime fast of at least 12 hours to properly carry out all the functions it performs while you sleep,” she explained.

She added that our bodies rely on the nighttime window to complete several essential processes:“It needs digestive rest, cellular regeneration, and in the case of children, growth — because they grow while they sleep.”

Following these habits can help you feel more energized and improve your overall performance throughout the day.
