For recipients living in Alaska, the amount distributed in SNAP benefits depends on whether the household lives in a rural or urban area. The average amount per person is $166. On the other hand, in Hawaii, the SNAP amounts are based on the income of the household.

While all state agencies distribute SNAP benefits by loading value onto EBT cards the dates vary from state to state. Some states often send money in batches based on recipients’ names or Social Security numbers.
