Vice President Kamala Harris and Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz will hold their first joint interview this week after securing the Democratic nominations for president and vice president, respectively, at the Democratic National Convention (DNC).

The interview is scheduled for Thursday, 29 August 29 at 9:00 p.m. ET and will be conducted by CNN chief political correspondent and anchor Dana Bash.

The interview will be a prelude to the first debate between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump, as well as to that between Tim Walz and JD Vance, the Republican candidate for vice president.

It also marks the first time Harris has sat down with a reporter for an in-depth conversation since President Joe Biden dropped out of the presidential race in late July and subsequently endorsed Kamala. In Harris’ 30-plus days of campaigning, her absence from press conferences and interviews has drawn criticism from Republicans.

When is the first debate between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump?

Donald Trump has revealed that he has reached an agreement with Kamala Harris on the terms of the debate that will be hosted by ABC News. The first debate between the two presidential candidates is scheduled for Tuesday, 10 September, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

If the ABC News debate is to follow the rules of the previous debate, one could also expect microphones to be muted while the other candidate is speaking and for there to be no studio audience present.

When will the first debate between Tim Walz and JD Vance be?

Earlier this month, Democrat Tim Walz and Republican J. D. Vance accepted CBS's invitation to a presidential debate.

The first vice presidential debate will take place on 1 October at the CBS studios in New York City. The time has not yet been confirmed, but CBS Evening News anchor Norah O’Donnell and Face the Nation anchor and CBS News chief foreign affairs correspondent Margaret Brennan are expected to moderate the event.
