Shoppers come out in droves to take full advantage of low prices offered during Labor Day sales, and the long weekend also offers deals to those who want to dine at their favorite restaurant.
Being the unofficial end of summer, many people host barbecues for family and friends. If you’re not in the mood to prepare food from scratch but still want to celebrate the holiday with a meal with loved ones, you can check out discounts and even freebies that restaurants are giving out.

KFC
The fried chicken chain is rolling out new $5 meals to add to its Taste of KFC menus.
The chicken nuggets meal offers eight pieces with a choice of two sauces; the Famous Bowl with KFC chicken nuggets features mashed potatoes and sweet corn with chicken nuggets layered with gravy, topped with shredded cheese; and the two-piece chicken meal features a drumstick and thigh, mashed potatoes with gravy, and a buttery biscuit.
Kona Grill
Casual restaurant Kona Grill is honoring first responders and teachers by giving them a 50% discount off their food through Sept. 2. To claim the dine-in only offer, you simply need to show a valid employee ID.
Krispy Kreme
In celebration of the holiday, Krispy Kreme is offering customers a dozen of its Original Glazed doughnuts for only $2.
You can get the deal with an order of any dozen doughnuts at regular price all through the long weekend until Monday, Sept. 2.
The offer is available in-store and for pick up at participating outlets. You can also redeem it through the Krispy Kreme app or website for delivery.
If you order through the app or the website, you are limited to ordering one dozen of the $2 sweet treats. If you purchase in-store or at the drive-thru, the limit goes up to two dozen marked-down doughnuts.
Mountain Mike’s Pizza
The regional pizzeria headquartered in California is giving a 15% discount on all pizzas on Labor Day. Just use the code LBRDAY24 to get the offer.

Papa John’s
The fast food restaurant is giving out free medium one-topping pizzas to members of their rewards program from Saturday to Monday.
Pieology
Members of the fast-casual dining chain’s Pies & Perks loyalty program will receive two free perks when they order any Craft Your Own Salad, calzone, or pizza during the Labor Day weekend. Pie Life Rewards members can get Pies & Perks status for the rest of the year by purchasing a Craft Your Own Pizza, calzone, or salad from Saturday, Aug. 31 to Monday, Sept. 2.
Round Table
The pizza chain will give a 15% discount on any order at participating outlets from Saturday to Monday.
