Lollapalooza 2022: what are the aftershows, who is performing and how to get tickets

Lollapalooza will take place between Thursday, July 28 and Sunday, July 31. Here is what you need to know about tickets, performers, and aftershows.

Lollapalooza goers will take to Grant Park in Chicago beginning on Thursday July 28 for four-days of music, food, and luxury experiences, for those who are willing to pay.

Who is performing?

The main headlines of the event include,

  • Thursday 28 July: Metallica, Lil Baby, Jazmine Sullivan, Billy Strings, Zhu
  • Friday 29 July: Dua Lipa, Machine Gun Kelly, Glass Animals, Don Toliver, Rezz
  • Saturday 30 July: J. Cole, Kygo, Big Sean, Kaskade, Idles, Turnstile, Wallows
  • Sunday 31 July: Green Day, J-Hope, Porno for Pyros, The Kid Laroi, Charlie XCX.

What are aftershows?

Th the festival has added a list of aftershows which will take place at some of Chicago’s most famous music venues. Over fifteen venues will feature festival artists in the days leading up to and during the festival. Tickets must be purchased separately from the Lollapalooza entry wrist band.

What food will be available at Lollapalooza?

The foodies rejoice as the festival announced some of the food options that will be available at the event. The Lollapalooza website describes the food scene as “the most delicious festival food, drinks and sweets from the Windy City’s favorite restaurants.” Those attending may notice the differences with “typical “carnival” type” food, as the organization has placed “an emphasis on fresh, reasonably priced items from the Chicago area.”

Are tickets still available?

Yes. A General Admission ticket can still be purchased for $125.

GA+ tickets which offer holders a more VIP experience including “expedited entry,” shaded and private seating options, premium restrooms, as well as a “full-service bar with preferred pricing on water, sodas, beer, wine and cocktails.” For those hoping to get a bit of a break from the crowed, a GA+ ticket provides access to a space with “jumbo screens with live streaming from the main stages.” These tickets cost $225.

More expensive and luxurious tickets and complete vacation packages are still available for purchase.

Can you get a refund if you if you have covid?

Yes. The festival organizers have made it clear that if you test positive for covid-19 you will be able to get a refund. To get your money back you can send a picture of your documentation showing a positive covid-19 test to info@lollapalooza.com. In the email also include your ticket or order number.

It is not enough to send a picture of a rapid test that shows a positive result. To receive the refund one must submit proper documentation that includesyour name, date and a positive result.” Those who would be attending the festival within five days of a covid-19 diagnosis are also eligible for a refund.
