Macy’s will hold its 97th annual Thanksgiving Day Parade on Thursday, Nov. 23. Here are all the details you need to know about the celebration.
The US will be celebrating Thanksgiving Day on Thursday, November 23, when millions of families and friends come together to share a traditional turkey dinner with gravy.
In addition to the typical feast, another custom on this holiday is the famous Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, which serves as the opening event not only of the day’s celebrations, but of Christmas festivities in general. It showcases various floats, balloons and live performances to entertain the crowd.

Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade 2023: Schedule and line-up
The parade takes place during the early hours of Thursday in Manhattan, New York. The floats will begin to parade sharply at 8:30 a.m. ET.
According to the event’s website, the parade will have a total of 25 balloons, 6 balloonicles, 31 floats, 11 marching bands and 18 musical acts, among them Cher and Manuel Turizo, plus other confirmed acts such as Alex Smith, Amanda Shaw, Ashley Park, Bell Biv Devoe, Brandy, Chicago, David Foster & Katharine McPhee, Drew Holcomb & The Neighbors, Enhypen, En Vogue, Jabari Banks, Jessie James Decker, Jon Batiste, Paul Russell and Pentatonix.

Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade: This is the parade route
The floats and balloons will depart from West 77th Street and Central Park at 8:30 a.m. and will continue their march to Columbus Circle. Later, they will turn into Central Park South to continue south on Sixth Avenue, until reaching the final stretch at West 34th Street. Once the floats arrive at Macy’s Herald Square, their time in the parade will be over.
