Marjorie Taylor Greene predicts straight people will be extinct soon and mocks Canada gun laws
The outspoken Republican lawmaker has claimed that Pride Month is a part of a co-ordinated plot to wipe out heterosexual people.
Outspoken Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene has been in the news again after posting a series of bizarre claims on Twitter, suggesting that the heterosexual people could soon be extinct.
As Pride Month kicked off, Greene took to Twitter to suggest that “they” will soon ensure that there are no straight people in the US. She did not outline who she was referring to.
In a 21-second video clip shared online the Congresswoman said: “Probably in about four or five generations, no one will be straight anymore… Everyone will be either gay, or trans or non-conforming, or whatever the list of 50 or 60 different options there are.”
Greene calls for the end of Pride Month
The Representative for Georgia, commonly referred to by her initials MTG, is on the right of the GOP’s conservative wing and has sought the limelight with a series of inflammatory remarks since taking office in 2021.
In recent days she has reiterated her opposition to gay rights in the US, calling for the end of Pride Month as a concept. In a tweet posted on 1 June she wrote: “The movements goals were achieved, were they not?”
She has recently began a weekly Facebook video broadcast called MTG Live in which she often regurgitates conspiracy theories. It was on this platform that she outlined her concerns about the extinction of heterosexual humans.
In the most recent episode, 28 May, she baselessly claimed that big government surveillance could soon be used to encourage people to eat lab-grown meat.
She said: “They want to know if you’re eating a cheeseburger, which is very bad because Bill Gates wants you to eat his fake meat, which grows in a peach tree dish.”
It is assumed that she meant ‘petri dish’.
MTG attacks Canadian gun laws
Earlier this week Greene claimed that new gun legislation proposed in neighbouring Canada put the country at risk. She suggested that the new laws would increase the likelihood of a Russian invasion.
“Trudeau foolishly completely ignores how taking guns away from his people makes his country weak and vulnerable to being invaded and easily taken over by another stronger country,” she wrote on Twitter. “Like, perhaps Russia, who is very angry at America right now.”
The new laws proposed north of the border would ban the sale and purchase of handguns, serving to cap the number of the weapons in Canada. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has proposed a mandatory buyback program for assault weapons which would help get the most dangerous firearms, like the AR-15 used in the tragic Uvalde massacre last week, off the streets.
“Canada has an incredibly weak military & now with Trudeau’s gun grab, his people are left defenseless not only by a criminal attacker, but also defenseless against another country’s military invasion,” Greene said.
