Meghan Markle, Princess Anne knew after first meeting, “had a short shelf-life” as a British Royal
King Charles III’s sister gave advice to Prince Henry’s fiancée in ahead of her entry into the royal family, but she was very clear about Meghan’s future.

They say she couldn’t stand Diana Spencer. Lady Di was the people’s princess, the most beloved, the most stylish. However, no one has worked harder than Princess Anne for the British crown. And the fact is that the sister of King Charles III, the second and only daughter of Elizabeth II and Philip of Edinburgh’s children, is the one of the most active members of the English royal family who attends the most events representing ‘The Firm’. But that hasn’t necessarily earned her the most popularity, which is believed to have caused jealousy towards the then Princess of Wales.
Her professionalism in helping guide the helm of the household, now run by her older brother, led the then actress Meghan Markle to turn to her for advice ahead of her entry into the royal family following her engagement to the king’s youngest son, Prince Harry.

According to aristocratic expert Neil Sean, Princess Anne made a quick and devastating diagnosis after this first meeting. Apparently, the aristocrat knew right away that Meghan Markle’s time in the royal family would have “a short shelf-life,” and just two years later, in 2020, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex moved to California, shedding their royal duties in the so-called Megxit.
Princess Anne’s advice
On his YouTube channel, Neil Sean added: “This senior royal takes no nonsense, much like her father the late Duke of Edinburgh. Apparently, when Meghan Markle joined the Royal Family, she sought out Princess Anne. According to a very good source, Princess Anne gave very sage advice to the new royal.”
Princess Anne was clear that Meghan Markle would not fit into her role in the royal family. She advised her to treat it as a job, rather than a celebrity role, something that shocked the actress, who reportedly came away “dumbfounded” by the meeting: “According to a very good source, Meghan Markle failed to warm to Princess Anne, and Princess Anne always knew that Meghan would have a very short shelf life in the world of the British monarchy.”
“Princess Anne reiterated this mantra. She pointed out that it wasn’t a working monarchy, it was a job, you turn up on time, you do your research and do the duty. It’s all about the project at hand. She also pointed out that whatever charities you are involved in, you needed to get involved and get immersed,” the Daily Record notes.
