Microsoft Outlook email down in global outage: when will it be back online?

Users across the world were sent into panic as Microsoft’s Outlook Email system seemed to suffer a global outage, with people reportedly being locked out of their accounts and unable to access their online mail.

Around 4pm ET on March 1, users took to social media to complain that they could not get into their emails, with many people scrambling to find a solution to the problem.

Online report website DownDetector logged more than 30,000 reports in a few minutes, showing the scale of concern.

Why can’t I log into Microsoft Outlook? When will it be back online?

At present, no answer has come from Microsoft as to why their system is clearly experiencing problems, and as such no solution can be offered.

Users are reportedly refreshing the page time and time again to no effect, so it seems that the world will simply have to wait until the boffins at Microsoft Towers remove the necessary cable and plug it back in, for all our benefit.

Why is Microsoft Online down?

Microsoft Online is also experiencing issues, and like the email service, there is no solution at the time of writing as to how to solve it, with users simply waiting for the problems to be resolved at the company’s HQ.
