Nashville students march in demand of gun reform

Students in Nashville walked out of school on Monday, demanding gun reform after the Covenant School shooting left six dead, including three children.

On Monday, thousands of students all over the city of Nashville walked out of their schools at 10:13 a.m., the exact time a shooter came into the Covenant School and changed the lives of those inside forever.

Now, students are marching in demand of gun reform in the United States. Author Andrew Maraniss posted this video of students marching through the streets of the city. Several gathered outside the Tennessee State Capitol to demand better and stricter gun laws.

The shooter at the Covenant School killed six people, including three nine-year-old children. The gun used was one of seven that the shooter legally obtained, despite known mental health issues. The shooting is unfortunately one of several that happen in the United States on a regular basis, several of which occur in schools and end in fatalities of young children.

Students stated their biggest concern was the easy access to military-style assault weapons. In front of the Capitol building, they chanted, “Ban assault weapons!” In this video, they are chanting, “hey hey! ho ho! The NRA has got to go!”
