The sweet potato is one food that is a brain-favourite, and it harbours many properties that aid the stimulation and maintenance of our grey matter.

Rich in antioxidants and other nutrients such as beta-carotene, sweet potatoes have antioxidants that the body converts into vitamin A, which fight off cellular aging. They help to prevent cognitive decline and are even known to improve your memory.

Diosgenin, a compound that has been shown to be beneficial for enhancing brain plasticity, is also present in high quantities. This process is key for memory and learning, as it allows the brain to form new neuronal connections.
