Neither China nor the U.S.: this is the country that dominates the tech world with the most important CEOs on the planet
This is the country that many CEOs, from some of the most important companies in the world, have in common.
Chief executive officers, or CEOs, play a pivotal role in every company they lead. They bear the ultimate responsibility for making strategic decisions, setting long-term plans, and shaping the organization’s vision - both internally and externally.
Contrary to what many might assume, the CEOs of some of the world’s most influential companies often share a strong connection with a specific country. According to data published by the X account World of Statistics, which specializes in sharing statistics on a wide range of topics, a significant number of top global CEOs are either from India or maintain close ties to the country.
The list posted on X highlights how these executives are “citizens of India, citizens of other countries but born in India, Indian origin, or with Indian parents”.
Who are these CEOs?
The statistics shared by World of Statistics reveal that many CEOs of leading corporations have roots in India. Among them is Alphabet and Google CEO Sundar Pichai, an Indian-American computer scientist who has held the role since 2015. Also featured are Satya Nadella, Microsoft’s CEO of Indian origin, and Neal Mohan, YouTube’s CEO, who was born in India.
The list also includes Ajay Banga, President of the World Bank Group and an Indian-American business leader; Arvind Krishna, CEO of IBM; Salil Parekh, CEO of Infosys; George Kurian, CEO of NetApp; and Nikesh Arora, CEO of Palo Alto Networks - all of whom share Indian heritage or nationality.
