Sunday, March 12, the 95th edition of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) Awards, better known as the Oscars, was held. The ceremony that honors the best of the film industry was held at its traditional venue, the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles, California.

Viewers from home are likely heading to bed, while the night for the stars in Los Angeles is still young.
The night goes to 'Everything Everywhere All at Once' and 'All Quiet on the Western Front,' which are taking home seven and four Oscars, respectively.
An emotional night thanks to the wins of Michelle Yeoh, Brendan Fraser, Jamie Lee Curtis, and Ke Huy Quan, all of which thought at one point that their best years were behind them.
'The Fabelmans,' 'Elvis,' and 'Triangle of Sadness' all walk away empty-handed... a shock for many viewing around the world.

And the Oscar for Best Picture goes to 'Everything Everywhere All at Once.'
The film's producer Jonathan Wang accepted the award first before giving the mic to the Daniels for some final comments. While 'All Quiet of the Western Front' gave the A24 film a run for its money, but there is a clear winner tonight.
'Everything Everywhere All at Once,' took home seven awards, carving a place in Oscar history.
Now... Best Actress ... goes to Michelle Yeoh
And the winner is Michelle Yeoh, the first Asian to win the Oscar for Best Actress.
The applause is louder than it has been nearly all night.
The win was partly dedicated to "all the little boys and girls who look like me watching tonight." As the first Asian woman to win the award, her win is a reminder of the barriers that still exist for many communities to make it big in Hollywood.
"Ladies, don't let anyone tell you that you are ever past your prime," said Yeoh before she began her round of thanks.
Yeoh ended saying, "Thank you to the academy, this is history in the making."
Brendan Fraser wins his first Oscar!
The beloved actor Brendan Fraser is clearly overcome with emotion at his win. This is the actor's first Oscar and comes after his great performance as Charlie in 'The Whale.'
The film is another A24 creation, which places even more focus on the production studio after all their success tonight.
An emotional speech from an emotional man... he left a tear in the eyes of many.

On Sunday evening, the Oscar for Best International Film was, predictably, won by the outstanding German-language ‘All Quiet on the Front’. The film had already triumphed at the BAFTAs and looks set to pick up more gongs at the Oscars tonight.

The Oscar for Best Original Song goes to 'RRR' for the song "Naatu Naatu."
The song was a collaboration between M. M. Keeravani and Chandrabose, who have swept for the best song all at the major award shows this season.
First Oscar for Top Gun: Maverick
The Oscar for Best Sound goes to 'Top Gun: Maverick,' and will be accepted by Mark Weingarten, James H. Mather, Al Nelson, Chris Burdon, and Mark Taylor.
This is the first win for the film tonight, but there are more chances for the remark to pick up additional awards later tonight.
'Top Gun: Maverick' is also nominated for Best Picture.
Austin Butler, from Disney Channel star to ‘Elvis’ Oscar nomination
Tonight’s Academy Awards ceremony will announce the winners of the most highly-prized awards in the film industry. The Best Actor category is comprised entirely of nominees who have not previously won an Oscar, meaning that someone will make history tonight. One of those people is Austin Bulter.
If you were born in the late 90′s, the face of Austin Butler is probably familiar to you. He may have ended up as the King but his acting career began on the small screen at the age of thirteen with appearances in children’s series on Disney Channel and Nickelodeon. A young Butler appeared on Hannah Montana, Wizards of Waverly Place, Jonas, Zoey 101 and iCarly, amongst other shows.

Accepting the award are the movie's directors, Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert from A24. Scheinert thanked his public school teachers, and Kwan gave a shoutout to his mom, wife, and all those in his life who have protected his passion and feelings.
Banks and a bear make an appearance
Elizabeth Banks took a turn in the director's seat with her new film 'Cocaine Bear.'
To present the award for Best Visual Effects, Banks appeared alongside a person dressed in a bear costume. Banks reminded audiences that without advancements made in editing the bear in her movie would look like the rather unruly one standing by her side.
A tribute to the late Chadwick Boseman, the original Black Panther
Rihanna takes the stage to perform her song, dedicated to the memory of the late Chadwick Boseman, "Lift Me Up."
After receiving a devastating cancer diagnosis, Boseman could not return to the role of Black Panther. The beloved actor passed away in 2021, and continues to be dearly missed in Hollywood.

The German-language epic anti-war film based on the 1929 novel of the same name by Erich Maria Remarque won the Oscar for Best International Film.
Who is Ke Huy Quan? From child star to Oscars winner
A tearful Ke Huy Quan gave an emotional speech on Sunday evening as he celebrated being named Best Supporting Actor at the Academy Awards. He became just the second Asian actor to win in that category, a magnificent achievement for someone who has overcome great obstacles over the course of his career.
He gave a shout out to his mother in his acceptance speech, detailing his journey from a immigrant arriving in the United States on a boat to accepting an Academy Award. He gave thanks to the Academy and raised the roof with his memorable speech.

Lady Gaga, in a very normal outfit, hits the stage
Lady Gaga takes the stage for what looks to be an emotional performance.
"You can be your own hero, even when you feel broken inside," said the singer to introduce the song.

These short documentaries pack a heavy punch into a limited timeframe.
The winner is 'The Elephant Whisperers' by Kartiki Gonsalves and Guneet Monga. This is the second documentary win for Netflix, which produced the film.
The winners took a moment to call attention to the connections between humans and animals, and the role of indigenous people in caring for the earth and all those that live on it.

‘Naatu Naatu’: Full lyrics and English translation of the soundtrack of ‘RRR’
Tonight the finest achievements in cinema will be celebrated at the 2023 Oscars award ceremony. As is the case every year, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) will recognize and award the films released in 2022 in different categories, from acting to editing, sound and music, including the category of Best Original Song.
Nominated within this category is the song ‘Naatu Naatu’ from the hit film ‘RRR’. The track was composed by MM Keeravani, with lyrics by Kanukuntla Subhash Chandrabose and performed by Rahul Sipligunj and Kaala Bhairava, who will be performing live on Sunday.
The song has been a favorite at award ceremonies, winning a Golden Globe and a Critics’ Choice award already, and more could be to come.

Ruth Carter accepts her Oscar for Best Costume Design
This is the first win of the night for 'Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.'
This is also the second Oscar win, from four nominations, for Ruth Carter. "Thank you to the academy for recognizing the super hero that is a Black woman," said Carter to open her speech.
Carter's mother passed away at 101 earlier this week, and the designer thanked her for all she did to support her daughter's illustrious career.

Many fans had assumed that this year was Angela Bassett's turn to win her first Oscar. Bassett was nominated for Best Supporting Actress for her performance as Queen Ramonda in 'Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.'
The award went to Jaime Lee Curtis, the first Oscar for 'Everything Everywhere All at Once' star.
When Michael B. Jordan and Jonathan Majors took to the Oscar stage to present the award for Best Cinematography, they gave Bassett a shoutout saying, "hey auntie, we love you."
The moment is being circulated online by fans who had been rooting for Bassett and are disappointed by the Academy's choice.

Guillermo del Toro and Netflix win another Oscar for Mexico with the classic tale of Pinocchio. This is the third Oscar for Del Toro, after the two won for "The Shape of Water".
Ke Huy Quan, wins! Tears fill the eyes of the winner and many watching.
"Oh my god!" says the star as he begins his acceptance speech.
"This is the American dream," says the actor, who thanked the Academy, his mother and brother, A24, his cast, and most importantly his beloved wife, who pushed him to continue following his passion of acting.
"To all those out there, keep your dreams alive!" urges the star.

Jimmy Kimmel, the host of this years program, provided a bit of Oscar trivia in his opening set.
He noted that Brendan Fraser and Ke Huy Quan, who are both nominated tonight, worked together decades ago in 'Encino Man.'
Steven Spielberg became the first director to have one of his films nominated for an Academy Award in six consecutive decades.
Additionally, the host spoke about the movie industry's focus on remakes and sequels, mentioning that the top ten grossing films to debut this year fell into this category.
John Williams, a frequent collaborator of Steven Speilberg, became the oldest composer to be nominated for an Academy Award. Williams is ninety-five years old and has worked on over twenty-five movies with the beloved director of 'The Fabelmans.'
And of course, a joke was made about Will Smith slapping Chris rock during last year's performance, with Kimmel confirming the presence of a "crisis team" at this year's event.

It was only a few hours ago that it was announced, to much excitement, that Best Song nominee Lady Gaga would be performing at the Oscars. The singer and actress has just stepped onto the red carpet in a stunnning drop-waisted gown with a mesh corset. We can't wait for the performance now, not long to wait!
Miles Teller keeps it classic on the red carpet
The Academy Awards is sometimes known for its flashy and over-the-top outfits, but this year's red carpet has been characterised by some more classic looks. Miles Teller went for the timeless black tuxedo for his appearance.

Things are really heating up in Hollywood as the 95th Oscars ceremony draws ever-closer. Jamie Lee Curtis is in the running for Best Supporting Actress tonight and dazzles in a sparkling dress, while Halle Bailey dons an elegant emerald outfit.
A splash of colour on the red carpet
The usual red carpet may have been replaced by a more subtle 'champagne' coloured flooring, but there's plenty of colour outside the Dolby Theatre nevertheless! Cara Delevigne and Winnie Harlow embrace ahead of the Oscars in two striking dresses, brightneing everyone's day.
It's all-white for Paul Mescal
Next up, fellow Best Actor nominee Paul Mescal goes for a classic style with the white jacket and pop of colour from the red rose. There has been plenty of show-stopping outfits already this year but the A-listers are continue to focus on the classic styles.
Yet Mescal pepped up the emsemble with a slight sheen on the jacket in a super cool modern long-length fit.

Oscar-nominee Austin Butler has gone for a parred-back classic look tonight with the double breasted tuxedo. Butler starred in 'Elvis' last year and has earnt himself an Oscars nomination for the first time. A timeless style for The King.
