Estados Unidos Update:

On Wednesday, U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi testified before the United States Congress about the Epstein files after initial reports indicated that Trump’s name appears approximately 4,500 times in the massive archive of more than 3 million redacted documents declassified by Congress between 2025 and 2026.

However, lawmakers that had access to the unredacted documents say that his name actually showed up far more times, that there are over a million references to Trump.

Despite this, Bondi strongly defended the president. She had a tense exchange with Democratic and Republican members of Congress, while still referring to Trump as the “most transparent” president in history.

Amid a series of threats and insults from the attorney general, members of Congress made serious accusations against the Department of Justice over its handling of the sexual abuse case and Donald Trump’s relationship with Epstein.

Democratic Congressman Ted Lieu showed Bondi a video featuring Donald Trump and Jeffrey Epstein and then asked whether minors were present at events attended by both men. Bondi responded, “This is so ridiculous… There is no evidence that Donald Trump has committed a crime.” Lieu replied, “I believe, you just lied under oath.”

Regarding Jeffrey Epstein and the survivors, some of whom were present for the congressional hearing, Bondi said, “I deeply sorry for what any victim, any victim has been through, especially as a result of that monster.”

However, when Washington Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal asked the AG if she would turn to the survivors and “apologize for what your Department of Justice has put them through with the absolutely unacceptable release of the Epstein files and their information,” Bondi did not but attacked the lawmaker instead.

Calls on Democrats to apologize to Trump

Bondi criticized Democrats, and then lashed out at them saying: “You all should be apologizing. You sit here, and you attack the president, and I am not going to have it… This dates back to the Barack Obama administration… [Trump] is the most transparent president in the nation’s history.”

She then made a complete divergence from the topic at hand and began talking about the stock market, touting the record highs that have been recorded recently. “That’s what we should be talking about.”
