Payment dates for Social Security checks from June to December 2024
The Social Security Administration continues to send checks as the year approaches the halfway mark. Here are the payment dates for the remainder of 2024.
The Social Security Administration continues to send monthly payments to millions of beneficiaries.
At different times of the month, the agency sends benefits to retired workers, survivors and those receiving disability benefits from the Supplemental Security Income (SSI) program and Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI).
The SSA has already sent payments for January, February, March, April, May and is in the process of sending those for June. Here are the payment dates for the remaining checks until December.
Generally, SSI benefits are sent on the first day of each month, while on the 3rd of each month, the SSA sends money to those who began receiving their Social Security payments before May 1997.
The rest of the Social Security checks are sent based on the birthday of the beneficiaries, including retired workers and those receiving survivors and Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) payments.
If any of the payments fall on a weekend or on a holiday, the money is sent on the first business day prior. Payments are sent by direct deposit to beneficiaries who have shared their bank account details with the SSA, or via mail in a paper check, which takes longer to arrive.
