Update:

The DOGE cuts sweeping through the nation’s Federal Government are causing havoc with its ability to function, doing exactly what Elon intended and forcing people to go private, where money can be made.

A careless chainsaw to government was never going to have an entirely positive effect, despite the idea of making things more efficient an appealing one to those who know anything about the rut of middle management. Nevertheless, there are correct ways to go about things, and mass layoffs across the board with little to no warning is akin to going for a drive with no brake fluid.

One specific consequence of Musk, an entirely unelected official, and his dangerous slash-and-burn technique is the difficulty in getting a Social Security check. Of course, why would the world’s richest man care about that?

People ‘run the risk of dying’ due to DOGE

Jason Fichtner, a former deputy commissioner at the Social Security Administration who was appointed by President George W. Bush, said that changes to the system meant he was “concerned that benefits could get disrupted” for many people who require them to stay above the breadline. “If you start messing with the system’s code, that could impact those who are currently getting benefits now, and that’s a new front-and-center concern.”

Thanks to Donald Trump, 7,000 Social Security employees and close six regional offices have all been cut, making the processing stage harder for workers, leading to delays. Crowded offices have been reported, as have long queues and a stuttering website, with cuts to staff causing mayhem for America’s poorest people.

CNBC, rather starkly, writes that such cuts mean that people with disabilities “run the risk of dying before receiving the money for which they are eligible.”

You can’t just flip a switch one night and expect to be able to upgrade,” Fichtner addedd. “It takes due diligence, and you have to understand the complexity of the programs.”

Attacking Social Security’s Administration’s administrative budget, which is less than 1% of outlays, is an obscene route for Musk to take, who is clearly targeting the working-class American in order to push them towards private companies: “There’s just not enough money there to make serious headway,” said Blahous, a senior research strategist at George Mason University’s Mercatus Center.
