Payment schedule for SNAP benefits in August 2024 in each state: Dates, amounts...

Here is all the information you need regarding the SNAP benefit payments.

Texas announces increase in SNAP benefits

As the year rolls on, the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits continue to help those who need it most.

These payments are deposited onto an EBT debit card that can be used at certain supermarkets, establishments, and mobile markets for food purchases.

The amount of money received depends on the income of each family, with the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) kindly introducing a 3% increase in SNAP voucher amounts through the Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA), with the number being adjusted recently to take inflation into account. Here’s a look at how much each family gets:

How much do families receive from SNAP payments?

  • $291 for single-member families.
  • $535 for two-member families
  • $766 for a family of three
  • $973 for a family of four
  • $1,155 for a family of five
  • $1,386 for families of six
  • $1,532 for families with seven members
  • $1,751 for an eight-member family
  • Additional member: +$219

Remember, if you are eligible, you can apply for SNAP benefits through your state’s SNAP office or online via the official website. In order to qualify, you must provide information regarding your income, expenses, and household.

Also, you may be required to meet certain work requirements or participate in a work program if you want to receive SNAP benefits. As it varies from case to case, the best bet is to check with your state office to see if any of these circumstances apply to you.
