Popular U.S. Tiktoker travels to Spain to race in Sanfermines for the first time and is warned: “Be careful”
TikToker Nick Patone travelled to Pamplona to partake in the famous festival.

The popular American TikToker Nick Patone has fulfilled one of his dreams: traveling to Spain to take part in the Sanfermines for the first time. In a new video posted on his TikTok account, the young content creator shares his firsthand experience of one of Spain’s most iconic festivals, focusing in particular on the famous running of the bulls through the streets of Pamplona. His goal wasn’t just to run—it was also to practice his Spanish by engaging with locals, something that has become a signature element of his viral videos.
Nick, who has built a following on the platform by documenting his journey learning Spanish through spontaneous conversations with strangers, opens the video by interviewing a veteran San Fermín runner. José Vicente, a 68-year-old Pamplona native, has taken part in the running of the bulls for more than fifteen years. He’s quick to offer the young foreigner some friendly but serious advice ahead of the big moment.
According to José Vicente, the best place for a first-time runner to start is near the Town Hall, since the bulls usually veer to the right—allowing the runner to stay on the left and observe the action without putting himself in excessive danger. “You can see them without being in as much risk,” says the seasoned runner, sharing his wisdom with a calm and instructive tone.
Before parting ways, José Vicente offers a warm farewell but also a clear warning: “Be careful,” he tells Nick, reminding him that, no matter how exciting the experience may be, running in front of charging bulls is no joke. Nick thanks him for the advice and continues exploring Pamplona, taking in the festive atmosphere and chatting with other participants in his increasingly fluent Spanish.
The video concludes with footage of Nick celebrating inside the bullring, visibly emotional after successfully completing his first encierro. “I survived!” reads the TikTok caption, as he raises his arms in triumph, surrounded by fellow runners. Although the video doesn’t show the race itself—likely for safety or content reasons—it’s clear that Nick accomplished his goal and that the experience lived up to his expectations.
