The goal of this robotic toilet is to help seniors and people with limited mobility avoid unnecessary trips to the bathroom.
Say goodbye to trips to the bathroom: new toilet invented that can move around the house
At the Rehabilitation and Geriatric Care Expo held in Shanghai earlier this year, Chinese accessibility technology company Yueban unveiled an innovative new invention designed to make life easier for older adults.
We have seen all kinds of toilets, from traditional models to those equipped with bidet functions, but Yueban, a brand operating under Tuobang Gufen, has now introduced a smart care device that helps people with disabilities or limited mobility use the restroom through autonomous movement and fully automated cleaning features.
Xiaoban robotic toilet
The robotic toilet, named Xiaoban, could be a game changer in reducing the burden of caring for older adults and individuals with mobility challenges. The toilet can be controlled through a remote-control button or offline voice commands, allowing it to travel autonomously from its charging station to designated locations, such as a bedside.
Using its AI-powered 3D Obstacle Avoidance System, Xiaoban continuously locates its user while navigating around stairs and other obstacles. The product’s primary purpose is to ensure that seniors and people with limited mobility do not have to travel long distances to reach a bathroom.
How does it work?
The toilet operates much like a robotic vacuum cleaner, but for human waste. It includes features such as a comprehensive odor-control system, warm-water washing, warm-air drying, and dual UV sterilization. These capabilities make it suitable for a variety of settings, including private homes and senior care facilities.
