In Florida, the delivery of benefits from the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program or SNAP, formerly known as food stamps, continues.

SNAP is a federal program that provides benefits to low-income families to buy food in coordination with state governments.

These benefits are deposited monthly into an electronic benefits transfer card, which works like a debit card to buy food at certain locations accepted in the program.

As each state administers the program, payment dates may vary. Some states send monthly benefits based on name, Social Security number or case number.

Florida SNAP benefits are sent between the 1st and 28th of each month, based on the 9th and 8th digits of your Florida case number (read backwards).

The formula Florida uses for SNAP benefit distribution takes the ninth digit followed by the eighth digit of an individual’s case number to create a two-digit number, which corresponds to the day someone receives their benefits. If a recipient’s ninth digit is 9 and its eighth digit is 8, then the number in this formula would be 98.

You can find your case number on your benefit approval letter. This is the letter the Department of Children and Families (DCF) sent you to let you know that your benefits had been approved.

This is the payment schedule according to your case number:
