The United States has a wide variety of financial aid with the aim of providing relief to the low-income population. This assistance includes the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, known simply as SNAP.

Through the SNAP Program, monthly food stamps are awarded to the most needy sector of the population in order to help them put food on their tables. Coupon amounts are deposited to an EBT debit card, which can be used at select retailers, grocery stores and even markets on wheels. Purchases can also be made online, as long as they are food.

Although SNAP is a federal program, the fact is that aid is administered by state authorities. With this in mind, some states have reserved the right to establish eligibility requirements and the amounts allocated to each family. Such is the case in the state of Missouri, where the maximum to receive, as well as the number of eligible family members, varies from the national average.

Who will first receive payments of up to $4,223 in July 2023?

Large families in Missouri will be able to obtain a maximum payment of up to $4,223 dollars per month, since the SNAP Program grants an extra $211 dollars for each additional member, up to a maximum of 20 people by family.

Payments will begin to be issued from 1 July, although the exact date will depend on the initial of the last name of the beneficiaries and their month of birth. Those who were born in January and have the initials A - K in their last names will be able to receive the money as of 1 July, while those whose initials go from L - Z, they will receive it on 2 July.
