Social Security is sending out payments of $2,000 on average today, Wednesday, June 11: find out who’s getting a check
The U.S.’s Social Security Administration is set to distribute the latest round of monthly benefits payments.

Many American seniors are set to be issued with their next monthly Social Security retirement check.
In the latest payment run on the Social Security Administration’s (SSA) schedule for June 2025, the agency is due to send out another round of retirement benefits today, Wednesday, June 11.
The SSA is also distributing Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) and survivor benefits today.
Who receives a Social Security benefits check today, June 11?
Of the 69.6 million recipients of retirement, SSDI or survivor benefits in the U.S., most get their money on one of three Wednesdays each month.
Each beneficiary’s designated Wednesday is decided by their date of birth.
Today, the SSA is to make payments to recipients whose birthday falls between the 1st and the 10th of each month. Checks will also be sent out on June 18 and 25:
Wednesday payment schedule - June 2025:
- Weds, June 11: Recipients born on 1st to 10th
- Weds, June 18: Recipients born on 11th to 20th
- Weds, June 25: Recipients born on 21st to 31st
Who gets their check outside of the three-Wednesdays schedule?
Americans who began claiming retirement, SSDI or survivor benefits before May 1997 are typically paid on the third of each month, irrespective of their date of birth.
What’s more, beneficiaries of the Supplemental Security Income (SSI) scheme - a separate program for low-income individuals who are over 65 or have a disability - normally get their check on the first of each month.
If you claim both SSI and any of the SSA’s retirement, SSDI or survivor benefits, you generally get the former on the first and the latter on the third.
However, as June began on a Sunday, this month’s SSI checks were issued early: payment was brought forward to the nearest working day, which was Friday, May 30.
Non-Wednesday recipients: June 2025 payments
- Fri, May 30: SSI recipients
- Tues, June 3: Social Sec. beneficiaries since pre-May 1997
If a dual recipient: SSI paid on May 30, Social Security paid on June 3
