Social Security: These beneficiaries will receive a payment of $1,900 on Oct. 3

The Social Security Administration continues to send monthly payments to millions of people, including retired workers, survivors, and those receiving money from Social Security Disability Insurance and Supplemental Security Income.

Benefits for those receiving Supplemental Security Income were sent on Oct. 1, and on Thursday, Oct. 3, the government agency will send another payment.

SSI payments are sent out on the first day of each month, and on the third day of each month, the Social Security Administration sends money to people who began receiving their retirement payments before May 1997. These are the retirees who will receive their money on Thursday, Oct. 3.

This year, maximum Supplemental Security Income benefits rose to $943 for individuals and $1,415 for couples, but the specific amount depends on each beneficiary. Meanwhile, the average amount received by retired workers is approximately $1,907 for this year.

These are the payment dates for Social Security benefits for October 2024 according to the official calendar of the Social Security Administration.

Payments are sent via direct deposit to recipients who have shared their bank account details with the government agency in order to receive their money through the bank each month.

The rest of the recipients receive their money via postal mail in a paper check, which takes longer to arrive.
