Social Security: Who receives their retirement, disability or survivor’s payment on Wednesday, 16 November?
As we enter the winter months households across the country will be relying on Social Security support to deal with energy price rises.
Social Security benefits are the most widely-available form of financial assistance available in the United States, with 66 million people currently in receipt of the support every month.
The scale of the program is so vast that the Social Security Administration (SSA) send out the monthly payments in three batches. The ordering of the batches is based on the day on which you were born, as follows:

The next Social Security payment is due on Wednesday 16 November, and will be made to eligible claimants who were born between the 11th and 20th of a month.
When will I start to receive my COLA boosted Social Security?
Earlier this year the SSA announced a cost-of-living adjustment (COLA) of 8.7%, the largest increase in nearly 40 years.
The increase is an annual alteration to the amount that recipients can receive and is supposed to reflect the rate of price change in the previous year. With inflation running so high in 2022 the SSA enacted a huge boost that will be worth an extra $146 per month on average.
The increased payments will begin with the January 2023 round of support but the payment structure employed by the SSA means that some people will get the money before the end of this year.
Recipients of Supplemental Security Income (SSI), a group totalling more than 7 million people, will get the first payments on Friday, 30 December.
