The incredible reason a passenger opened an airplane door 700 ft up

A passenger on a flight in South Korea opened the airplane door as the plane was landing, leaving 12 people with minor injuries.

In South Korea, a male passenger on an Asiana airlines flight opened an emergency exit door while the plane was mid-flight. A video captured by one of the passengers shows the terrifying moment, as strong wind blasts inside the plane, causing things to blow around and people to panic.

Several people tried to stop the passenger and he was eventually detained by the airport police. The man told police that he felt suffocated and wanted to get off the plane as quickly as possible. It is also reported that he was suffering from stress after losing his job recently. If he is convicted, he could face up to 10 years in prison.

Was anyone injured during the flight?

The plane was able to land safely, but 12 people suffered minor injuries including breathing problems and sever ear pain. They were taken to a nearby hospital. The plane was headed to Daegu from the southern island of Jeiu, which would typically take just around an hour. There were 194 passengers on the plane and the incident happened when it was already landing, at around 700 feet in the air.

Some of those passengers were young students on their way to a track and field competition. One of the parents of the students said “children were shaking, crying, and frightened”.
