The late Queen and grandmother of Prince Harry had drafted a letter before her death, arguing that it was “imperative” that the couple and their children continue having their security detail, even after deciding to move to the United States. Her Majesty noted the significant security risks faced by the family to justify a security detail. However, these wishes were not respected, forcing friends of the couple, including director Tyler Perry, to offer his own home and security services as a short-term fix as the family situated themselves in Southern California.

Many British outlets are slamming the couple for making these “immature demands,” but none detail what the couple has demanded during their stay. These attacks are part of a long battle between Prince Harry and Meghan Markle and the British tabloid industry.
Mint reported that this decision by the couple has ruffled feathers in the Royal Family as Prince Harry’s father, King Charles, had offered accommodations to the couple at a Royal residence. Such offers from the King were rejected.
