After several weeks of speculation about her disappearance from the public sphere, Kate Middleton has revealed that “it has been an incredibly difficult couple of months” for her and her entire family.

Through an official video, The Princess of Wales reported that she was diagnosed with cancer after undergoing abdominal surgery in January. “At the time it was thought that my condition was non-cancerous. The surgery was successful. However, tests after the operation found cancer had been present,” she said.

“My medical team therefore advised that I should undergo a course of preventative chemotherapy and I’m now in the early stages of that treatment, she added.

According to the outlet, Megan and Harry were in Los Angeles on Thursday night at an art exhibition, so it's unclear if they were aware of Middleton's diagnosis or not.
