Millions of benefits recipients are this week set to get their next monthly payment from the U.S.’s Social Security Administration.
The Social Security Admin is making payments on Friday, July 31: who receives benefits tomorrow?
Across the U.S., the Social Security Administration (SSA) is tomorrow scheduled to issue an early payment to certain benefits recipients.
Who’s being paid by the Social Security Admin tomorrow, July 31?
On Friday, July 31, recipients of Supplemental Security Income scheme (SSI) are due to get their monthly benefits for August 2026.
Why the early SSI benefits payment?
SSI is typically paid out on the first the month, but August’s benefits are to be issued a day ahead of schedule as next month begins on a Saturday. This will be the second batch of SSI benefits to be distributed this month, after July’s SSI was paid out on Wednesday 1.
Who qualifies for SSI benefits?
A needs-based program with just over seven million beneficiaries nationwide, SSI is for low-income individuals who are over the age 65 or have a disability.
Unlike the SSA’s Social Security scheme - which issues retirement, disability and survivor benefits to around 71 million people in the U.S. - eligibility for SSI does not depend on claimants’ employment record.
You can find out more about the SSI program’s eligibility criteria on the SSA’s official website.
How much are monthly SSI benefits in 2026?
- Ave. payment as of June 2026: $738.10
- Max. individual payment: $994
- Max. couples payment: $1,491
- Max. essential-person payment: $498
Additional state payments
Some SSI beneficiaries can get an extra monthly payment from their state. Learn more about the states that offer this supplement on the SSA website.
