Words of encouragement from the U.S. President have proven to be the ‘kiss of death’ - Just ask the Ryder Cup team and the Yankees.

The Trump curse strikes again: Mamdani wins after the president jinxed Cuomo and other MAGA politicians
We told you, put your money on Mamdani winning the NYC mayoral election after Trump backed Cuomo.
Trump endorsed Cuomo for the NYC mayoral election and Zohrank Mamdani didn’t hesitate to post the news on his Instagram account.
2025 Election disaster for Trump
The Democrat won the election and he wasn’t the only one who took advantage of the Trump curse: Mikie Sherrill won the New Jersey race for governor by beating another politician backed by Trump: Jack Ciattarelli. In California, Gavin Newsom beat Trump by passing his Proposition 50 legislation, which will allow California to redraw district maps. Let’s not forget about J.D. Vance’s brother in the Cincinnati mayor elections, who got detroyed with only 20 percent of the votes.
Sports teams that Trump jinxed
The latest sports team to get hit hard by Trump’s curse is the Yankees. The Toronto Blue Jays won the ALDS series 3-1, for yet another disappointing season for New York fans. Trump visited the Yankees on Sep. 11, 2025 and Aaron Judge and the rest of the team were cursed.

Ryder Cup chaos
Back in September, Trump visited Bethpage Black to bring some luck to Team USA, who definitely needed all the help they could get. The Trump curse continued when the U.S. got way behind the Europeans on Friday with a 5.5 - 2.5 scoreboard. Things didn’t get better on Saturday when Europe dominated again and finished with an 11.5 - 4.5 lead. Trump strikes again. Despite an attempt a comeback on Sunday, Team USA lost on home soil 15-13.

Super Bowl LIX
We saw this happened at the last Super Bowl when Trump predicted a win for the Chiefs as Andy Reid’s team chased the a historic ‘three-peat.’ Kansas City was doomed from the start.
Ahead of the game Trump stated: “I guess you have to say that when a quarterback wins as much as he has won, I have to go with Kansas City,” Trump told Brett Baier of Fox News in the interview, referring to Chiefs star Patrick Mahomes.

“At the same time, Philadelphia has a fantastic [team]. It’s gonna be just a great game.”
On the night, the Eagles proved too strong winning 40-22.
Canada silence TD Garden
Trump also managed to jinx the 4 Nations Face-Off NHL final between the USA and Canada. After a heated game between both nations in Montreal last Saturday, in a game which the US won, Thursday nights contest resulted in a victory for the Canadians in a game played amid increased political tension.

Tension around the tournament
Earlier in the day, U.S. President Donald Trump made a bold statement on social media, reiterating his proposal to annex Canada as the 51st state of the United States.

“I’ll be calling our GREAT American Hockey Team this morning to spur them on towards victory tonight against Canada, which with FAR LOWER TAXES AND MUCH STRONGER SECURITY, will someday, maybe soon, become our cherished, and very important, Fifty First State,” President Trump posted on Truth Social.
