Update:

Some recipients of Social Security benefits are due to be issued their latest monthly check early next week, as the Social Security Administration (SSA) kicks off its schedule of benefits payments for June 2025.

Who gets paid by Social Security on June 3, 2025?

Long-term Social Security beneficiaries

On Tuesday, June 3, the SSA is scheduled to distribute checks to certain long-term recipients of Social Security: specifically, those who began claiming retirement benefits, Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) or survivor pay before May 1997.

Beneficiaries who also claim SSI

June 3 will also be your payment date for retirement, SSDI or survivor money if you combine any of these benefits with Supplemental Security Income (SSI) - a scheme for low-income Americans who are over 65 or have a disability.

Your SSI money, meanwhile, should have been paid on Friday, May 30.

How much are retirement, SSDI and survivor benefits?

Retired workers - who account for most Social Security recipients - receive an average of $1,999.97 a month, the SSA said in a statement released earlier this month. Disabled workers get a monthly average of $1,581.88, and survivor benefits are worth an average of $1,565.52 per month.

How much are monthly SSI benefits?

Per the SSA, SSI beneficiaries get an average of $717.87 a month. The highest possible SSI figure available to an individual claimant is $967 per month. Eligible couples can get up to $1,450 per month.

The agency also notes that some SSI recipients may be eligible for a supplementary payment from their state. You can find out which states offer this additional money on the SSA website.

When are other Social Security checks paid for June 2025?

Most recipients of retirement, SSDI and survivor benefits will be sent their latest monthly benefits on one of three Wednesdays in June. Their designated Wednesday will depend on their date of birth:

  • Born on 1st to 10th of the month: Weds., June 11
  • Born on 11th to 20th of the month: Weds., June 18
  • Born on 21st to 31st of the month: Weds., June 25
