This is the reason why Donald Trump decided to pull the United States out of UNESCO, again
For the second time, the U.S. president is withdrawing his nation from the international body.

By order of President Donald Trump, the United States will once again withdraw from the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), State Department spokesperson Tammy Bruce confirmed.
This marks the second time the White House has pulled the U.S. out of the agency. The Republican leader took similar action during his first term, removing the country from several international institutions, including the World Health Organization and the global climate agreement – both of which he had criticized for years. However, those decisions were reversed when Joe Biden took office in 2021.
Why has Trump decided to pull the U.S. out of UNESCO?
According to official information, Trump has chosen to withdraw from UNESCO following the organization’s acceptance of the State of Palestine as a member – a move he considers evidence of anti-Israel bias.
In a statement, State Department spokesperson Tammy Bruce said the current administration believes UNESCO is pushing “divisive social and cultural causes,” and called the admission of the “State of Palestine” particularly problematic, clashing with U.S. foreign policy.
The statement also claims that the agency has helped fuel hostile rhetoric against Israel within its ranks, according to the Trump administration’s assessment.
Today, the United States announced our decision to withdraw from UNESCO. Like many UN organizations, UNESCO strayed from its founding mission. Going forward, U.S. participation in international organizations must make America safer, stronger, and more prosperous.

The U.S. withdrawal from UNESCO is scheduled to take effect on December 31, 2026 – just three years after it rejoined the agency.
