Trump forces Coca-Cola to change its secret formula
Coca-Cola has introduced a version of its soft drink with cane sugar in the US. The change comes at the request of President Donald Trump.

Coca-Cola has started selling a new version of its classic soft drink in the United States made with cane sugar, replacing the high fructose corn syrup or glucose syrup traditionally used. The change follows President Donald Trump’s public call earlier this year for the company to alter its formula.
A company spokesperson confirmed that the new product is being gradually rolled out in select cities and stores. Coca-Cola had already announced plans to introduce this version in July, after Trump claimed the company had agreed to incorporate cane sugar into its popular drink.
High fructose corn syrup has faced criticism from Trump’s Secretary of Health and Human Services, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who has spoken out against its use. Coca-Cola uses glucose syrup because it is a cheaper and more accessible sweetener, though health experts caution that sugary drinks are not good for overall health.
This launch aligns with the company’s broader focus on lower-sugar or no-calorie products, such as the relaunch of the BodyArmor brand.
