Update:

July 20th marked six months since Donald Trump took over as President of the United States and the 79-year-old availed of the day to remind his followers how his term is unfolding via a series of posts on his Truth Social account.

“Totally revived” the United States declared Trump stating on his Truth social account that the country has been “totally revived” after being “DEAD” under the previous administration. He claimed, “One year ago our Country was DEAD, with almost no hope of revival. Today the USA is the ‘hottest’ and most respected Country anywhere in the World. Happy Anniversary!!!”

“One of the most consequential periods”: Trump stated, “Wow, time flies! Today is that Sixth Month Anniversary of my Second Term. Importantly, it’s being hailed as one of the most consequential periods of any President.”

He also emphasized that his administration has “got a lot of good and great things done,” including “ending numerous wars of Countries not related to us other than through Trade and/or, in certain cases, friendship.”

He acknowledged that “Six months is not a long time to have totally revived a major Country.” and highlighted the passage of his “big, beautiful bill,” which made the 2017 Trump tax cuts permanent. His administration has also consistently celebrated actions related to border security, deregulation, and the work of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).

He also mentioned his increasing poll numbers within the Republican Party and among MAGA supporters, attributing it to actions like strong borders and the handling of the Jeffrey Epstein case files.

Truth Social outpouring

Trump was prolific with his Truth Social posts on Sunday. In addition to an AI generated video showing Barack Obama being detained, he also has strongly criticised a Wall Street Journal (WSJ) report that claimed Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent had tried to stop him from firing Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell, The Hill reported. Trump called the story “typically untruthful” and said no one had to explain to him what impact firing Powell would have on financial markets.

This comes after a week when Trump demanded that Democratic Senator Adam Schiff, should be “brought to justice” for alleged mortgage fraud, in a move the California Democrat said amounted to political persecution.
