Former president Donald Trump chose to sit out the third Republican primary debate, and he got plenty of solo air time one day after the GOP debate was held.

Spanish-language TV network Univision broadcast a one-on-one interview of Trump at Mar-a-Lago by journalist Enrique Acevedo Thursday night, where the former president discussed the economy, the war between Israel and Hamas, and the situation at the Mexican border, among many other topics.

He also hinted at the possibility that if he wins in 2024, he would use government agencies to get back at his enemies.

When Acevedo asked Trump if he would “weaponize” the Justice Department and the FBI against his critics as he said they did against him, Trump said, “Yeah. If they do this and they’ve already done it, but if they want to follow through on this, yeah, it could certainly happen in reverse.”

Trump is currently facing a total of 91 federal and state charges ranging from fraud to election interference.

Trump laments state of the US border with Mexico

He also spoke about how the United States has an unsafe border with Mexico which has caused an influx of 15 million people, with many of them having dubious backgrounds.

Many people come from prisons. Many people come from mental institutions and insane asylums. That’s Silence of the Lambs. That’s Hannibal Lecter. You ever hear of Hannibal Lecter? Not a nice person,” according to Trump.

“But these are people that are very, very disturbed, very, very mentally ill. They’re being dropped into the United States,” he added.
