Trump’s prison decision that could lose US $60 million dollars annually
The US president has ordered the "most ruthless criminals" to be imprisoned in this prison, which has been closed since 1963 due to its high maintenance costs.

Alcatraz, the infamous maximum-security prison located on Alcatraz Island off the coast of San Francisco, is set to reopen 62 years after it was shut down in 1963 due to high maintenance costs.
The announcement came directly from Donald Trump via Truth Social, where he revealed plans to reactivate the prison as part of his strategy to house the country’s most violent inmates.
As he described it, the facility will hold the United States’ “most ruthless and violent offenders.”

‘We did not hesitate to lock up the most dangerous criminals’
“For too long, America has been plagued by vicious, violent, and repeat Criminal Offenders, the dregs of society, who will never contribute anything other than Misery and Suffering. When we were a more serious Nation, in times past, we did not hesitate to lock up the most dangerous criminals, and keep them far away from anyone they could harm. That’s the way it’s supposed to be.”
“That is why, today,” he said, “I am directing the Bureau of Prisons, together with the Department of Justice, FBI, and Homeland Security, to reopen a substantially enlarged and rebuilt ALCATRAZ, to house America’s most ruthless and violent Offenders.”
The decision, already agreed upon with key federal agencies—including the Bureau of Prisons, the Department of Justice, the FBI, and the Department of Homeland Security—calls for an “substantially enlarged and rebuilt” version of the historic prison.
