Trump reposts bizarre conspiracy that Joe Biden was executed in 2020 and replaced by a robot clone
The president promoted a conspiracy theory that Joe Biden was executed in 2020 and replaced with a clone during a late-night Truth Social session on Saturday.
Late on Saturday night, President Donald Trump’s ‘re-truthed’ an alarming post on his social media site, Truth Social. Whereas in the first term, we received messages from the witching hour, such as “Covfefe,” this time around, some are much more sinister.
The post was from a user with the handle (@llijh), and the message was almost as bizarre as the format.
President Trump promotes a conspiracy theory about Joe Biden being replaced by clones
The post appears to claim that former President Joe Biden, who defeated Trump in 2020, was executed that same year, and replaced with clones, described as "robotic engineered soulless mindless entities." It is these “entities” which are seen in public today, and that “Democrats don’t know the difference.”
Such posts are pretty par for the course on social media today, but to be picked up by the president is dangerous. These conspiracies are not based in reality, and oddly let the real-human Joe Biden off the hook for the mess MAGA world says he created.
Alex Kaplan, a senior researcher at Media Matters, said that these sorts of messages have been popular among followers of the QAnon conspiracy theory for years.
President Trump’s response to Biden’s cancer diagnosis
In May, after the former president announced that he had been diagnosed with an aggressive form of prostate cancer, President Trump initially sent him a message of support. However, during his Oval Office press conference on Friday, May 30, where he appeared alongside billionaire Elon Musk, he struck a different tone.
The president told reporters that people shouldn’t feel bad for President Biden because he is vicious, noting Biden’s treatment of his political rivals, of which he is one. “If you feel sorry for him, don’t feel so sorry… he’s vicious," said the president, adding that Biden had “hurt a lot of people.”
