Twitter down, why won’t new tweets load?
Many Twitter users have complained of issues with the social-media platform on Wednesday.
When major online platforms go down, everyone on the internet starts to migrate to other sites. That’s par for the course, particularly when we’re talking about one of the most important platforms there is, which is the case of Twitter.
What problems have there been with Twitter today?
On Wednesday, the social media service has suffered outages that have stopped users from seeing new posts on their timeline, both on the website and the app.
Differences between website and app
However, the issues suffered, which have been logged on the website DownDetector, have varied depending on the version people are using.
On the app, there is a ‘blockage’ that stops users from bring up new tweets on either the ‘For You’ or ‘Following’ tabs on their timeline.
On the desktop version of the website, many tweeters have complained of being unable to get past a “Welcome to Twitter!” page inviting you to follow more people on the platform.
As of 5:30am ET on Wednesday, AS USA was encountering both the above issues.
Updates on Twitter issues
We’ll be following what happens in the hours ahead until normal service is resumed, and will bring details of what, if any, explanation Twitter gives for the outages.
