Two SSI checks will be delivered in November: Here’s why
SSI beneficiaries will receive two checks in November. Here’s why.
Each month, the Social Security Administration pays beneficiaries of the Supplemental Security Income (SSI) on the first of every month, except when the first falls on a weekend or holiday. The November payment will be made on Friday, November 1. However, since the first of December falls on a Sunday, it will be paid the Friday before, Friday, November 29.
Often, when this situation occurs, outlets will release headlines that suggest an additional payment is being made, but this is not the case. What makes the situation additionally complicated is that the January payment will be made in December, since the first of the month is New Years Day.

In August, the average SSI benefit check for all recipients was $698.51. Most generous benefits are distributed to younger recipients, as it is more uncommon that they have another source of income:
Once the 2.5 percent COLA is applied to these averages, the benefit amounts will reach approximately,
The first check will be delivered on Tuesday, December 31.
