After 35 consecutive drawings without registering any takers, the accumulated Powerball purse amounts to $1.73 billion dollars. The winner would have the option of collecting $756.6 million in cash if they decide to claim the prize in a single payment. Otherwise, the entire amount will be distributed over 30 annual payments.

The current jackpot represents the second largest in the history of the famous lottery. Drawings are held three times a week: Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays, promptly at 10:59 p.m. ET / 9:59 p.m. CT / 7:59 p.m. PT.

The lottery is officially valid in 45 states in the country, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands. The cost of a Powerball ticket is $2 dollars. To play, you must choose a number from 1 to 69 for the five white balls and one from 1 to 26 for the Powerball or red ball. The winner of the jackpot will be the one who manages to hit all the numbers.
