While it is illegal to reward people for voting in the US, several businesses are offering discounts and freebies on Election Day to all, vote or no vote.
Americans have already shown tremendous enthusiasm in the 2024 US election with nearly half the number of people who voted in 2020 having already cast a ballot, and there are still a few days to go. While it is illegal to offer people rewards to vote, or even register to do so, rideshare companies are offering discounts to those who need a lift to get to their local polling center.
Additionally, whether you have voted, are planning to or going to sit this one out, there are other discounts and freebies that you can take advantage of on Election Day.

For those who need to catch a ride to cast their ballot on Tuesday, November 5, Uber is offering 50% off one-way trips (up to $10) to users to get to their polling location between noon and midnight. Don’t know where yours is? No worries, the app will help you find the one nearest to you.
On election night you can also take advantage of 25% off orders (up to$15 and a must be a minimum order of $25 before taxes and fees) through Uber Eats. The vote tallying could go late into the night so the offer is valid between 6 pm November 5 to 7 am November 6 local time.
In order to get these deals from Uber, simply click on the “Go Vote!” tile in the home screen of the Uber app to check out the different promotions.
Lyft is also offering discounted rides to the polls on Election Day. Like Uber you can get 50% off your trip (the discount is worth up to $10). Users need to preload the code VOTE24 on or before November 5. The code will be valid from 5 am to 10 pm in every time zone. It can be used for a rideshare, bikeshare, or scooter ride.
As well if you prefer to go by e-scooter, check out the Lime app. The company is providing users with free 30-minute rides to polls places. Simple use the code VOTE2024.

Feeling stressed out about the election and need some comfort food? Well there a some places that you can go and get discounted food items or freebies.
Stop by Krispy Kreme and pick up a free original glazed doughnut as part of “Doughmocracy celebration” no purchase or proof of voting necessary, just give the person at the counter a smile. You can also get a free “I Voted” sticker while supplies last.
If a shake is what you are looking for, Johnny Rocket is giving away one free with any in-store purchase on November 5 but you’ll have to flash an “I Voted” sticker.
FranchiseWire reports that participating Round Table Pizza locations are offering $6 large and extra-large pizzas on Election Day. As well Fazoli’s will give in-store dinners $2 off a signature bake menu item on Election Day.
Election Day, in case you missed it above, is Tuesday, November 5. That will be you’re last chance to make you voice heard in the 2024 US election to decide between former President Donald Trump, Vice President Kamala Harris as well as third party candidates or none of the above.
