When Mike Pence admitted to January 6th demand
The American people deserve to know that President Trump and his advisers didn't just ask me to pause, they asked me to reject votes, to return votes, essentially to overturn the election.”
"To keep faith with my oath to the American people and to God, I did my duty that day."
Strong admission.
Whether the American people choose Donald Trump or Kamala Harris to lead the most powerful nation in the world, big global conflict will be front and center. Iran plans a “definitive and painful” offensive from Iraq to avoid direct retaliation, while Israel prepares to respond.
Joe Biden is the Democrat with the most votes in the country's history. Can Kamala Harris break the record?
Do you believe in history repeating itself?
Ally Sammarco is certainly keen to focus on three major events that could repeat themselves four years after.
(Obviously she could have picked two things that happened in 2016 to match Trump winning)
Based on his previous tenure and recent statements, a Trump presidency would likely spell the end of many existing student debt relief programs.
JLo goes all in for Harris
"The next president of the United States,..."
JLo is confident of next week's result.
FT says polling isn't picking up positive economy vibes
The highly-respected Financial Times is venturing that Kamala Harris will win the White House once the votes are tallied, and by a solid margin. What is behind their confidence?
The US economy has been month after month pumping out data that it is strong, continually adding more jobs, unemployment is low, inflation is under control and wages are outpacing rising prices. Martin Sandbu, the European economics commentator at FT, says US voters know this and appreciate it more than the polls are detecting.
This time 76 years ago, when Harry Truman went up against Thomas Dewey for the presidency, the pollsters were far more confident about the outcome of the US election.
Their predictions were defied, however, in what is viewed as one of the greatest electoral upsets in American political history.
Taylor Swift's track record indicates she may leverage her influence to drive voter engagement, an approach that could give Harris an edge among young voters.
Jennifer Lopez rallies for Kamala Harris in Las Vegas
Kamala Harris was in Las Vegas, Nevada as part of her blitz through the West. Helping to rally voters to cast a ballot for Harris was Jennifer Lopez.
“Over Kamala Harris’ entire career she has proven to us who she is. She has shown up for us everyday, the people. And it’s time for us to show up for her,” Lopez told the crowd. “It’s time for all of us to answer ¡presente!”
Is Taylor Swift singing at Harris rally in Philly?
For weeks now there have been rumors that Taylor Swift or Beyoncé are planning a last minute get out the vote concert in the City of Philadelphia according to 94.5 PST radio station. There is no confirmation that this is the case but if there were a concert it would likely be on Monday the night before the election and on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway.
The Trenton, New Jersey station makes that guess based on a photo posted on social media by Philly blogger PhillyChitChat that showed scaffolding being erected on the steps of the art museum. The blogger says that his sources have told him it will be a multi city concert similar to Live Aid.
It's fair to say that if it happens, it will be HUGE!
Women outpacing men in early voting
Access to abortion, reproductive freedom and women's health in general have been major topics in the 2024 election. And it appears that those most affected by those issues are taking it seriously.
According to NBC close to 60 million American have already cast a ballot ahead of the November 5 Election Day. The outlet's data shows that of those who have voted early 55% were women versus 45% of men.
RFK Jr for women's health? Harris responds to Trump
Vice President Kamala Harris responded to what we told you earlier about Trump telling the audience at his rally in Nevada that he will put Robert F Kennedy Jr in charge of working on women's health with just one word.
"No."
Trumps says he would replace Obamacare
With just a few days to go until ballots are tallied in the US, the presidential candidates were barnstorming the West with campaign rallies in crucial states. Harris was in Arizona while Trump in New Mexico and both made stops in Nevada.
Trump’s campaign has been walking back the idea that in a second term he would get rid of the Affordable Healthcare Act, aka Obamacare, after Speaker Mike Johnson told a crowd that it would be on the chopping block yesterday. Trump accused Harris of lying about him wanting to undo the ACA at his rally in Nevada, before saying that “it still stinks, OK?”
He then said that he’d be open to changes to the program or even outright replacing it. “If we got something better, I would do it, if it was less expensive. It's too expensive. It is not a very good form of health care," he told the rallygoers, in what feels like another concept of a plan rather than anything actually thought through.
Trump tells Nevada rally RFK Jr will “work on women’s health”
Donald Trump was campaigning in Henderson, Nevada on Thursday afternoon after a previous stop in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He boasted to the assembled crowd that he had the endorsement of anti-vaccine activist Robert F Kennedy Jr, who has said that Trump will give him “control” of US public health agencies if he returns to the White House.
Trump seemed to confirm at least part of what areas he would control saying during the rally that RFK Jr is “going to work on health and women's health and all of the different reasons, because we're not really a wealthy or a healthy country.”
JD Vance on women being arrested for abortion trips
Republican vice presidential candidate JD Vance said he doesn't like the possibility of women being prosecuted for having an out-of-state abortion if the procedure is not legal in their home state.
“I don’t like the idea, to be clear, of people getting arrested for freely moving around the country,” Vance told podcast host Joe Rogan. Vance said he has heard of the idea as a “threat,” but has not seen it in practice.
In case you missed it, Brent Terhune posted an “emotional” video of his “experience” driving former President Donald Trump in a garbage truck the comedian dubbed “Garbage Force One.”
The fictional telling was taken serious by some and helped make the video go viral along with the wave of searches for the GOP candidate's garbage truck stunt.
