It looks like former President Donald Trump is poised to secure a victory in both the popular vote and the electoral college in the upcoming 2024 election. The GOP nominee becomes the first Republican since 2004 to win the popular vote. As Trump’s victory can no longer be denied, Vice President Kamala Harris will deliver a concession speech, marking a significant moment in the political landscape. Stay tuned for what could be unfolding in the hours or days ahead.

Since election night, when votes were still being cast and counted, the vice president has not posted anything on social media. There has been no formal announcement regarding when she will address the nation. However, as the final swing states complete their vote counts and Donald Trump exceeds the crucial threshold of 270 electoral college votes, Kamala Harris will be expected to make a speech as it is tradition in US politics.

When will Kamala Harris make her concession speech?

On Tuesday night, the Harris campaign said she would stop by her alma mater, Howard University in Washington, D.C., to attend a viewing and, ideally, a victory party. Yesterday, as it became clear that the news was not good for the Harris camp, the co-chair of her campaign, Cedric Richmond, addressed the crowd that had been amassed at Howard University and informed them that they would not be heard from the vice president.

The Office of the Vice President said she would head to Howard on Wednesday afternoon to make a speech. Her remarks are expected around 4 pm ET and she will be joined by her husband and Second Gentleman, Doug Emhoff.

Most major networks will be carrying the remarks of the vice president live, and on YouTube CSPAN will also likley allow users to stream the remarks, as they did with Donald Trump’s victory speech.
